Solar AI Search Answers

AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity are completely changing how homeowners research solar installations. Traditional SEO relied on keyword-stuffed blog posts, but generative AI search rewards hyper-specific local data, direct pricing transparency, and verified installer authority over generic marketing fluff.

We optimise your digital presence, technical content and local authority signals to help position your solar business as a relevant, credible option in AI-generated recommendations.

Audit Your Local AI Search Visibility

Traditional SEO ranks your website on a crowded page of blue links. AEO structures your technical data (like MCS certification credentials, DNO application workflows, battery storage integration, and verified regional project case studies) so models like Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, and Perplexity can recommend your company by name. AEO strengthens your business's visibility across AI-powered search platforms, increasing the likelihood of your company being cited and recommended when homeowners search for trusted solar installers.

Upgrading to solar AI Search generally takes 3 to 6 months to produce consistent organic lead flow. Technical updates and Google Business Profile optimisations can yield visibility within weeks, but targeting high-competition commercial or residential terms requires regular content publishing and local backlinks over several months.

Timeline Breakdown:

  • Months 1–2: Technical audits, local citation cleanup, Google Business Profile optimisation.
  • Months 3–4: Publishing targeted local content, case studies, and customer FAQ pages.
  • Months 5–6+: Ranking growth in local maps and AI Overviews, resulting in lower customer acquisition costs.

We optimise solar content by providing clear, authoritative answers to homeowners' questions, supported by relevant technical information, local expertise and structured data where appropriate. Our approach follows Google's search guidelines while improving content clarity for AI-powered discovery.

Optimisation Checklist:

  • Place direct, plain-language answers at the top of every section.
  • Address long-tail comparison terms (e.g., solar finance vs. paying upfront, or adding a battery vs. exporting on the SEG).
  • Include concise lists, structured tables, and verified local data.

A solar company should typically allocate 5% to 15% of its total annual revenue toward marketing. Newer solar installers in competitive markets aiming for aggressive growth should budget closer to 12%–15%, whereas established companies focusing on brand retention and organic lead generation can operate efficiently around 5%–8%.

  • Standard Allocation: 5%–15% of revenue.
  • Minimum SEO Investment: £1,000 to £5,000 per month for organic growth.
  • Cost Per Lead (CPL): Paid channels generally yield higher CPL, while organic/local SEO lowers acquisition costs over time.

Yes, our primary focus stays on residential and commercial solar installers, battery storage providers, and clean energy contractors. Solar marketing demands deep domain expertise that generalist agencies miss, such as optimising for Smart Export Guarantee (SEG) tariff searches, energy price cap changes, and long 90-to-180-day buying cycles. The same AI search frameworks are also deployed for high-ticket home services like heat pumps and roofing, helping content capture high-intent searches right when homeowners evaluate quotes.

We keep kickoff minimal so your installation and sales operations remain completely uninterrupted. We need access to your existing ad accounts and analytics, alongside your core operational parameters: your target UK postcode regions, preferred inverter and battery OEMs (e.g., Tesla, SolarEdge, GivEnergy), MCS scope, and typical pricing structures. Our team handles all schema markup, AI content structuring, tracking infrastructure, and estimator calibration.

Independent solar companies can beat national competitors by leveraging hyper-local SEO, transparent pricing breakdowns, and fast, direct customer service. National providers often struggle with slow response times, outsourced installation crews, and generic messaging, creating opportunities for local installers to capture market trust.

Key Differentiators to Highlight:

  • Local Expertise: Highlight knowledge of local planning rules (permitted development, conservation areas), DNO connection processes, energy tariffs, and local weather patterns.
  • In-House Crews: Emphasise non-outsourced labour and direct workmanship warranties.
  • Authentic Proof: Showcase photo/video case studies of real local roof installations rather than stock media.
